Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resigned after just 48 hours of violent anti-corruption protests that killed 19 people. In Europe, French PM François Bayrou’s government collapsed after losing a confidence vote over a €44 billion austerity budget, deepening the political crisis for President Macron.
The day was also marked by a deadly terrorist attack in Jerusalem where two Palestinian gunmen killed six Israelis at a bus stop. The attack prompted a lockdown on parts of the West Bank.
